In February 2008, 43 women took part in the first “back to netball” session. Thinking that only a few may want to continue and that we could direct you to local clubs, we were amazed when well over half of the group wanted to keep playing. We also had a demand for more courses, so in May and September 2008 we had two more groups of over 40 women. In our group that started in September 2009, with only word of mouth advertising we had 31 ladies, 20 of which have gone on to affiliate with us. We also ran a course in 2010 and 2011. This means that we have coached over 180 ladies back into netball in the last 18 months, with just about 70 club members currently playing at our club on a regular basis.
The Priory Ladies Netball club is essentially a return to netball club. It provides women with a familiar sport to return to, whatever their capabilities. There is a training session with a friendly game at the end to put into practice what has been covered in the session. We do not have plans for another course yet - but keep checking website for details.
Our back to netball course takes place over five weeks at The Priory School, Hitchin from 7-8pm on Tuesdays. For further information or to express interest on a course, please email the "coach" through the website.
